Harbour Technologies’ first robotic system for production of level 2 and 3 isolation surgical gowns has gone online, with a capacity of 3000 units per day of ANSI/AAMI standard gowns in Canada. The robotic system allows for high-speed ultrasonic welding of gowns, ensuring no fluid penetration along the seams with a proprietary 3-bar welded seam.

How we serve you.

From designing & building custom machines and automation to retrofits and rebuilds, at Harbour Technologies, we’re confident we have the right solutions to suit your needs

Advantages:

  • Ability to run various materials including SMS, PET, washable materials.
  • High speed production using systems familiar with North American production. Examples include Rockwell Automation components, Kawasaki Robotics, Telsonic ultrasonics and SMC pneumatics.
  • Immediate ability to run different size gowns at once, or a mixture of batches. An example would be running batches of Mediums and Larges at the same time.
  • Name brand North American components and 24-hour technical support and on-floor service and training.

Harbour Technologies has also engineered an N95 cup type mask and production equipment and has built the first production systems of its kind in Canada, which is in operation in Western Canada.

Harbour has developed a unique self-decontaminating mask, using exclusive antiviral material technology for its production system. Along with the antiviral properties of the mask, we’ve also engineered a filtration medium that has 98% filtration and utilizes material that is readily available in North America. This circumvents the supply strain of relying on foreign materials to manufacture our masks. Harbour’s N95 masks are currently under testing for both NIOSH certification and for medical certification to the ASTM F2100 standard.

The automation system can produce 9000 to 20,000 masks per day, dependent on automation options.

Advantages:

  • Flexible materials and geometries can be manufactured using our automation.
  • Additional quality control, using Cognex camera systems.
  • High-End Telsonic ultrasonic systems.
  • Rockwell automation controls.
  • User-friendly controls and HMI screens allow for full control of systems.
  • 24-hour support and service in North America.
  • On-site training and installation.

Harbour Technologies has invested in a PPE manufacturing facility in Windsor, Ontario for the medical production of level 2 and 3 gowns, along with N95 masks and surgical masks. Harbour has the mechanical engineers, robotic controls specialists, highly-skilled machinists, and production staff to meet the contract manufacturing needs of our customers.  We know the production process and the equipment, because we not only build the machinery for PPE manufacturers — we also manufacture PPE ourselves.
